So, I recorded a short little thing earlier in HitRECord, but it’s not popping up on my dashboard there, so I’m guessing I just suck at it at the moment? I tried uploading it again, but this time, I saved the link to the record. I think that should work? Anyway, I’ve included it here if you want to read it under the cut.
When the world fell apart, we all fell apart; pieces of incomplete hurt, unable to find solace in any of the previous comforts of a mundane life. The regression would have been frightening if it had not been expected, predicted for years and years upon end. Well, more frightening than it already was.
When the world fell apart, the sky darkened and the stars went out. The sooty ash of cities dying, crumbling, filled the air and blocked the light of life. The rain burned and stained us all. Bare bones, tattered flesh, and nothing remained to hide behind. Any secrets left were buried with the dead.
And there were so many dead.
When the world fell apart, the survivors fed on the remnants of memory. Without the constant connection, the displacement of thought across the world, we hungered. We fused discordant pieces of flesh and circuitry, high-tech solutions via low-tech methodology. We isolated ourselves with the monstrosities we became in order to reconnect.
More human than human.
